Karen's Beginners and Beyond

This class is geared toward beginners as well as quilters who are beyond the beginning stage.  Individual blocks will be taught at the request of students:  strip piecing, half square triangles, flying geese, log cabin, stitch and flip, as well as others.  There are different projects available which can be made using the block presented.  Each block presentation takes two to three meetings.

If requested, a review can be given of:  how to square off fabric, correct rotary cutting technique, cutting 2 1/2” strips and 5” squares, correct pinning, sewing accurate 1/4” seams, and how to use your iron and ironing board as sewing tools.  Help is given on personal projects and quilting problems.

This class meets on the third Saturday of each month.

Skill Level: Beginning and intermediate
Requirements: Sewing machine with owner’s manual, project currently needing help, scissors, quilters’ straight pins, quarter inch foot, walking foot, thread, and anything else the project needs such as batting.
