How to Whitelist addresses to reduce spam

In order to reduce the amount of junk mail you receive in your E-mail, many mailing services and ISPs (the company who provides your internet access, like AOL, Comcast or Roadrunner) will filter your E-mail before you receive it. If you don't receive mail you are expecting, you may need to contact your ISP to find out if they have installed spam blocking software or a CAPTCHA challenge.
A CAPTCHA challenge is those strange looking characters some programs want you to figure out and enter into a box to prevent automated mail. Unfortunately, our order confirmations, tracking numbers and newsletters are all automated so you may not receive them if you or your ISP has installed one of those challenges or other spam blocking software.

To avoid that, you need to put these legitimate E-mail address on your trusted list, safe list, approved list or white list. To do that, find your E-mail service below and follow the instructions. If yours isn't here, contact your ISP or other service provider.

You can practice on our addresses. For example, if you want to receive order confirmations or our mailing list, you would need to white list . If you want to receive shipping confirmation, including your priority mail tracking number, you would need to list

Go to keyword: Mail and Spam Controls. Select your screen name. Click Customize Mail Controls For This Screen Name. Next to Content Filter, click Edit. Uncheck 'Block messages containing pictures or files', then click Save. Click Save to close the Mail and Spam Controls window.

Version 9.0:

Send an e-mail to: and that will add that E-mail address to your "People I Know" list automatically. You will also need to unblock images if you want to see the images in our newsletter.


If you find our E-mail in your spambox, click on the white "W" icon on the left column of the mailing. When the pop-up window comes up, simply click the Add to Whitelist button.

Alternative whitelisting methods:

* Click on the White List button. Add: to the bottom of your existing list. Click the Submit List button.

Cloudmark SpamNet
From the Cloudmark SpamNet toolbar in Outlook select Cloudmark | Options

Click Advanced and go to the Whitelist tab. Click the Add button.

Type: : Click OK. Click OK. Click Yes. Click OK.


Images may not display by default. Click Tools>>Options>>Display and select "Automatically download HTML graphics".

- HTML may not display properly, particularly in a Mac. Click Tools>>Options, select Viewing Mail category, and in the Message Window area make sure that "Use Microsoft's viewer" is selected. If not, you can always read our newsletter on line at Shop News.


If you see a message that should not be in your Spam Mail folder, click the 'Not Spam' button to avoid having e-mail from the same source sent to the Junk Mail folder in the future.

If you don't see graphics in an E-mail, click on the 'Display Images' or the 'Always Display Images' link at the top of that E-mail.

From the main menu tabs, click the Options link, then Safe List. Type: in your Safe List.

If you see a message that should not be in your Junk Mail folder, click 'This is not Junk Mail' and then select the option to add the newsletter to your Safe List.

Images may not display by default. Click on the link to "Enable all message content."

Images may not display by default. From Incredimail's main menu, click on Tools>>Options. Click the Security tab. Remove the checkmark next to "Block external images (recommended)". Click the OK button.

HTML may not display properly. In the Mail & Newsgroups section, click View>>Message Body As>>Original HTML.


Images may not display by default. Click View>>Display and uncheck "Suppress external embeds.


Click the Addresses tab. Click New. Type: Make sure 'Accept Mail From This Address' is selected under Receiving Options. Uncheck 'Display in People Picker' under Other options. Click Submit. Click OK.


Click Friends from the toolbar. Click Add. Type: Click OK.

Click Tools, then Blacklist & Friends. Click Add on the right, the Friends list side.

Make sure Plain email address is selected. Type: Click OK. Click OK.

Outlook Express

HTML may not display. Select Tools>>Options, click on the Read tab. In the Reading Messages area, uncheck "Read all messages in plain text."

Images may not display. Select Tools>>Options, click on the Security tab. In the Download Images area, uncheck "Block images and other external content in HTML e-mail."

McAfee Spamkiller

Click Friends from the sidebar. Click Add. Type: Click OK.

Pegasus Mail

HTML may not display by default. Click "Mail Preferences and Settings" -- under Incoming mail, select "Where a choice of format exists, display the fancy version". Click the Apply button.

Add the following entry to your user_prefs file, which is found in the .spamassassin subdirectory on your web/mail server:



Click the Configure button. Go to the Known Senders tab. Click Add under 'Known Good Senders and Recipients'. Type: Click OK. Click OK.

Spameater Pro

Click Filters from the sidebar. Click the Approved Senders tab. Click Add Filter. Type: under Address. Choose 'Full Email Address' under Address Type. Select Email Domain. Click OK.

Spam Inspector

Select Spam Inspector, then 'Manage Friends List' from either the Spam Inspector toolbar or from the Outlook menu. Make sure Email is selected under 'Add a New Friend'. Type: Click the >> button. Click Close.

Spam Interceptor

Follow the Trusted link under > Authentication Lists. Enter the email address: Click Add.


Click on the SpamPal system tray icon with the right mouse button. Click 'Add to Whitelist' from the menu. Type: Add.

Spam Sleuth

Select File, then Configure. Go to the Friends category. Make sure Active is checked. Type: on a line by itself in the entry field. Click OK.


Images may not display by default. Select a e-mail that has HTML in it. Click on the "Show Images" button, located on the right-hand side of the window. Note that a plain text message will not show this button.

Yahoo! Mail
Open your Yahoo! mailbox. Click Mail Options. Click Filters. Click Add Filter. In the top row, labeled 'From header:' make sure Contains is selected in the pull-down menu. Click in the text box next to that pull-down menu, then enter the address:

At the bottom, where it says "Move the Message To:" select Inbox from the pull-down menu. Click the Add Filter button again.

If our newsletter has been filtered to your "bulk" folder, simply open the message and click on the "This is not Spam" link next to the "From" field.

Images may not display by default. Click on the "Edit Preferences" link and in the "Image Blocking" area, select either "Don't block any images" or "Block images in messages that SpamGuard thinks are spam."
