Scrapdash - Corn off the Cob
Our first pictures have arrived!
Marshall your scrap forces and dash to the finish line with this quick and
easy lap quilt 47" x 56". No fair buying fabric for this one: the challenge is
that you MUST make it using fabric from your stash. All the fabrics you
use must be either pre-washed or not washed. Make it easy on yourself
and don't mix 'n match.
Requirements:
Eight Fat Quarters. They don't have to be full fat quarters, you
really only need pieces that are 14 1/2" by 21". Pick four
that read as dark and four that read as light.
1/2 yard of a fabric that co-ordinates with all of your scraps but
contrasts enough so you can see the difference. Think of this as your focus
fabric.
2/3 yard of a fabric to use as an outside border.
A 9 1/2" square ruler. (or larger)

Here is an EQ representation of the finished quilt. I have
actually made this twice, once like this one and one with sashings and
cornerstones. Both are great - and look nothing alike. Please
send me your pictures, I would like to see how YOU did!

These quilts are from Carol.
She and her friends had a mystery party:-)) |

This is Karens block and sample
layout. She plans on
enlarging the quilt and putting it on point. Very cool. |

Pat
made hers as a charity quilt for her group, the Comfort 'n Quilters.
Last year they donated over 100 quilts to various charities. If you
click on the picture thumbnail above, you can see the golf cart though the
window - can you tell this group is in Jacksonville FL? |
Birdies Butterfly Garden
Birdie
loves butterflies! This was our Fly
Away Home mystery |

Patsy added a cornerstone block to the border - great! |

Ines
added 4" sashes and an extra border. She's planning on
giving it to one of her triplets as a Christmas gift. |

This
one is from Cindy |
 Look
at the cool cell phone fabric! Cheryl made this for her niece (a
senior at Albion College) and is calling this "Call me" because her
niece knows that she can call her Aunt Cheryl for anything:-)) |

Bold
colors from Missy |

Look
at the border on Melissa's! She used scraps from the fat quarters. |

This
